The Professional Master's in Teaching of History (ProfHistoria) is a stricto sensu graduate program and aims to provide continuing education for teachers. It contributes to the improvement of the quality of teaching History in basic education, aiming to give certified qualification to graduates to exercise the profession of History teacher.
ProfHistoria is an in-class course with simultaneous national offer, led by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Created in 2013, the course is recognized by the Ministry of Education and recommended by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), currently rated 4. Since 2015, the Federal University of Pará has been part of the Program as an associated institution.
The association with ProfHistória constitutes yet another avant-garde action by UFPA in the continuing training of History teachers who work in basic education in the State of Pará. With an even more significant perspective, which is to assist teachers who work in the State, ProfHistória Pará is working at the Ananindeua University Campus, being the first Post-Graduate Program to work at this campus.
